The Center for the Care and Protection of Addicts has made a long and arduous journey since it was a department under the Administration of crime / Misrata branch, until it became an independent center based on concern, care, and protection for this group. This has made the center’s staff aware of the importance of their duty and the high value of their mission, the noble purpose they are working to achieve for their society and their country.
It is no secret to anyone that addiction is the scourge of the age that bedevils the most important groups in society (young people), who are the core of renaissance and building in their societies. The danger of addiction and its repercussions go beyond addiction to its detriment to its family and its surroundings, which makes addressing it a top and urgent priority for the preservation of society and youth.
Those motives are what we start from in our work at the Center for the Protection and Care of Addicts. The addict is more a victim than a criminal, so he deserves care, protection, and investment in order to be active in his community.
We hope to make the Center for the Care and Protection of Addicts a successful environment for the treatment of this group and a gateway to a second opportunity through which they can return to their society to exercise their natural role. We believe that this is not only through psychological and clinical treatment, but also through partnership with their families and communities, and through the provision of support, encouragement, and assistance. We also hope that the study of the causes of the spread of this phenomenon and the motives behind its decline, as well as awareness of its danger and ways to prevent it, will be important.
